Gold settled today, Wednesday, as investors refrained from risk ahead of the US presidential election, as well as anticipating the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting scheduled for later this week.

Spot gold was at $2,734.71 an ounce by 0013 GMT.

U.S. gold futures fell slightly by 0.1 percent to $2,743.40 an ounce.
