NEW YORK-SABA
The United Nations (UN) confirmed that the mass forced eviction orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces against the residents of the Gaza Strip, without ensuring the existence of safe and suitable places for the displaced, further exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation of hundreds of thousands of residents.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement that there are more than 55 eviction orders in effect covering more than 85 percent of the population of the Strip.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said" Repeated displacements separate families and erode social protection systems, especially for women and children".
As for humanitarian missions, Dujarric reported that only 37 humanitarian missions to the northern Gaza Strip were facilitated during the first two weeks of this month out of 94 planned missions, and only 50 percent of the 243 coordinated humanitarian missions in the southern Gaza Strip were facilitated.
