[08/08/2024 01:12]
ADEN - SABA
Yemen's Minister of Information said today that the 45 civilian deaths and massive havoc wreaked by floods in the afflicted Tihama region in western Yemen reveal part of the misery originally brought upon the people by the terrorist Houthi militia.

Hundreds of homes were destroyed and tens of thousands of families were displaced after days of unrelenting rain in the Yemeni Red Sea port region of Tihama.

"This catastrophe is the outcome of a decade of systematic destruction of infrastructure and basic services, the lack of state institutions, and the diversion of state resources especially Hodeidah resources towards financing the Houthis' so-called (war effort) rather than upgrading the infrastructure and enhancing the capabilities of the local authority to be prepared for handling deal such disasters, "Eryani said.
