The Russian navy has killed off major combat exercises involving four of its fleets including more than 300 ships, boats, submarines and 20,000 sailors.
The Russian defense ministry said in a statement, "Units and formations of the Russian Navy have begun conducting planned exercises in the operational zones of the Northern, Pacific and Baltic Fleets, as well as in the area of responsibility of the Caspian Flotilla."
The statement said about 300 ships, boats, submarines, support ships, up to 50 aircraft, and more than 200 pieces of military and special equipment are participating in the combat training.
The units will practice techniques including the use of anti-aircraft missiles and anti-submarine weapons.
