ADEN - SABA
The Yemeni government has spoken highly of the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the US to broker a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, ending the siege, and delivering relief aid to the Strip.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Yemeni government had welcomed the United States' President Joe Biden's initiative for a ceasefire saying this represents an opportunity to end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
The ministry renewed the government's supportive position in favour of the Palestinian people's ambitions and right to establish a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the two-state solution framework, as per the Arab Peace Initiative and the UN resolutions as the only way to bring about security and peace in the region.
