The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

PM convenes a meeting to address electricity blackouts

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak convened a meeting today, Thursday, at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy headquarters devoted to discuss the practical measures that have been taken to address electricity blackouts and the ongoing plans to provide the power-generate stations with fuels.
The meeting included Ministers of Finance Salem bin Braik, Electricity and Energy Mane'a bin Yameen , Oil and Minerals Saeed al-Shamisi and senior official in charge of electricity institutions.
The Prime Minister stated that the government is keenly seeking to find out urgent and sustainable solutions to the power cuts, stressing the importance of depending on less cost alternatives to produce the electricity.
