Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Wednesday a number of issues related to rights and freedoms with the representative of the United Nations Office for Human Rights in the province Mohammed al-Sheibani.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Governor Engineer Rashad al-Akhali and the Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor Abdu Ali, the governor addressed a number of issues that the local authority has been working to resolve as part of its commitment to protecting public rights and freedoms.
He emphasized the importance of joint cooperation in establishing a series of awareness programs and events in various aspects.
For his part, the representative of the United Nations Office for Human Rights in the province reviewed a number of issues, affirming the cooperation of international organizations in enhancing the efforts of the local authority and coordinating efforts to create suitable spaces for joint work.
In another meeting, Governor Nabil Shamsan discussed with Judge Mohammed Sultan, the head of the appeal prosecution issue of debtors and the necessary measures to release them in implementation of the directives of the Chairman of the Presidential Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi.
During the meeting, the head of the appeal prosecution presented a list of prisoners who are indebted and the amounts of money owed, totaling 41 prisoners.
Governor Shamsan confirmed that the local authority will make efforts in cooperation with the government and the private sector to provide the necessary amounts and release these debtors.
