Prime Minister receives Head of (UNMHA)

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received Wednesday the Head of the UN Mission for supporting Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA,) the Head of Re-Deployment Coordination Committee General Michael Beary.

Prime Minister was acquainted by the UN official with the activities of the mission and issues associated with its tasks and way of performing its work in accordance with the UN relevant resolutions.

Dr. Abdulmalik Reiterated necessity of monitoring al-Salif and Hodeida ports and taking serious positions towards smuggling weapons from Iran to Houthi terrorist militia.

He confirmed significance of the mission's work on supporting government's efforts to remove landmines planted by Houthi terrorist randomly in Hodeida.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed government's request to the UN to relocate the headquarters of the mission into the liberated areas and not leave it a hostage to the pressure and blackmail of Houthi militia.

For his part, the Head of the UN Mission expressed his appreciation for the government's cooperation and support.

He affirmed the mission's commitment to work according to its mandate and support the efforts of the UN envoy for peace process. The mission expressed readiness to address all challenges and issues in partnership with the government.
