His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, directed the government to double down the efforts to improve the public revenues, control corruption and go ahead on implementing the economic, financial and services reforms program backed by the brothers and friends.
His statement came as he presided over part of the session of the Council of Ministers held today, at al-Ma'ashiq Palace in the temporary capital Aden.
His Excellency briefed the Prime Minister and the members of the government on the latest developments about the ongoing efforts by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to renew the truce, launch an inclusive political process that ensures to eliminate the Iran-backed Houthi militias' coup and restore the state's institutions in line with terms of the peace references agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally.
The President pointed out to the continuation of the Houthi militias military and legally violations, abandoning its all obligations under the truce agreement, putting its backers' interests above the Yemeni peoples'.
His Excellency touched upon the government's top priorities in the economic, services and security fields and the requirements to enhance the leading role of the city of Aden as a temporary capital.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the significant efforts made by the government over the past period to reduce the repercussions of the cessation of oil exports for one year, preventing the situations to slid into a dire humanitarian disaster due to the Houthis' terrorist attacks on the oil exports harbors and international navigation lines.
The President reiterated thanks and gratitude to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi and the United Arab Emirates for their significant support to support the national economy, maintain the exchange rate of the national currency and alleviate the Yemeni people's.
