Al-Eradah discuses with UN Envoy's military advisor peace chances
[05/10/2023 06:08]
MARIB-SABA

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council General Sultan al-Eradah discussed Thursday with the Military Advisor of the UN Envoy for Yemen Antony Heward and the accompanying delegation UN efforts for realizing peace and permanent ceasefire.

During the meeting, al-Eradah confirmed that Yemeni people believe in peace and have strong desire for permanent and real peace on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon refences, the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council's Resolution 2216.

He confirmed that the political leadership and the government support all regional and international efforts to realize real peace, which meets aspirations of all Yemeni people.

He pointed out that Houthi terrorist militia is working on foiling all chances and UN efforts for seeking peace despite big concessions made by the government for making those efforts successful.

He confirmed opening Marib-Nihm-Sana'a Road and Marib al-Baidha'a Road within 48 hours if the militia agrees on similar opening from their side under UN sponsorship despite that the utmost priority is opening Taiz roads, which is under the siege for nine years.

He called upon the international community and the UN to take serious positions to implement UN resolutions, which have been issued in international consensus and define the party hindering their implementation and realizing peace and consequently take deterring measures towards it.
