Planning Minister discusses wit UN Coordinator development support

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb discussed Sunday with UN General Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs David Gresley developmental and economic plan process in the country.
The meeting discussed measures associated with the general frame of plans and projects implemented by the UN organizations and work mechanisms and joint evaluation of what has been implemented, as well as remaining steps of the plan of getting rid of Safir Tanker after successful empty process.
Minister of Planning praised existing relation between the government and UN organizations working in Yemen, pointing out to necessity of continuing support to government efforts to keep economic stability and balance between relief work and transferring into developmental one.
He pointed out to government's keenness on evaluating all implemented programs and projects and knowing all domains associated with mechanisms of plans and projects to ensure dealing with them in accordance with current conditions.
Minister Batheeb reviewed a number of projects are being implemented in some liberated provinces, including Hassan Dam, which feeds more than 14 thousand of agricultural lands in Delta Abyan and Batis Project.
For his part, the UN General Coordinator of the Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen David Gresley pointed out that the objective of the meeting is discussing steps of UN plans for transferring into developmental projects and focusing on the type of the projects and urgent needs.
He also pointed out to the nature of the humanitarian work in Yemen and discussing preparations for the initiative of the UN Secretary General for holding a summit in New York City for supporting Yemen.
