Taiz - Saba
The governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, stressed that humanitarian activity is important to alleviate the suffering resulting from the Houthi war and siege, and that the people of the province will stand together in the face of targeting aid workers and smearing the image of organizations operating in the province.
On the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day, the governor added that had it not been for the programs and interventions of organizations in the fields of health, education, food, water and the improvement of livelihood, the situation of the governorate would have been much worse in light of the continuation of the war and more than 3000 days of siege that produced disastrous results, stressing that targeted attacks on humanitarian aid workers is direct targeting of the people of the governorate and deepening their suffering, and we will not accept this proposition, and all instigators will be confronted and the effects resulting from the recent assassination of the WFP employee will be overcome.
He said, "Taiz is the governorate most in need of humanitarian aid delivery work and extending a helping hand to its people, and stopping or withdrawing from the field of humanitarian work or reducing humanitarian aid and reducing the percentage of funding will have disastrous results and exacerbate the human suffering in the governorate."
