His Excellency Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shayya' al-Sudani received today, Sunday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak.
BinMubark handed over a written message from Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik aimed to further boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries through resuming the joint technical committees and renewing the agreements and memorandums of understandings and executive programs particularly in the fields of cultural and academic cooperation, judiciary and trade.
The discussions touched upon the latest developments political and economic developmens in Yemen amid Houthi militias' intransigence and continuing violations against the Yemeni people.
BinMubarak underscored the importance of activating the mechanisms of the Political Consultations Panel between the two countries' Foreign Ministries to coordinate the political positions about the issues of common interest.
The Foreign Minister touched upon the issue of the Yemeni nationals who were indicted over a number of charges and they have been serving the verdicts they received. He explored His Excellency's intervention to allow moving them to Yemen to serve the remain period of their sentences due to their relatives' suffering.
The Iraqi Prime Minister has confirmed his country's supportive position in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Yemen's unity, security and stability.
He also reiterated his government's support for all efforts aiming to establish peace, stability and put an end of the Yemeni people's suffering.
