Minister of State, the Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, confirmed that the governorate was not affected by the earthquake that occurred this morning in the Gulf of Aden.
The governor told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the tremor was not within the framework of the geographical location of Aden governorate, and that the residents of the city and its suburbs did not feel it, indicating that not even the areas close to the sea coasts were affected by this tremor.
He added that he directed all the security and government agencies in the governorate to prepare in anticipation of any emergency in the future. The US Geological Survey had reported that a 5.9-magnitude earthquake shook the Gulf of Aden today, Saturday, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
