Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. General Aidarous al-Zubaidi held this evening, Tuesday, discussions with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Jean-Marie SAFA over bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The conversations also covered the latest developments about the political and humanitarian situations in our country amid the regional and international underway efforts to extend the truce and establish peace.
Al-Zubaid highly appreciated the significant humanitarian aids provided by the French government to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni peoples due to the war. He expressed his hope of greater French support for the Yemeni Government's efforts to manage the economic hardships.
The French Ambassador briefed the member of the Presidential Leadership Council on the outcomes of his visit along with a delegation from the French Foreign Ministry to the temporary capital Aden and the two governorates of Hadramout and Lahj, citing the projects the delegation announced to support the leading young businessmen and the fishermen in Hadramout.
The talks touched upon the armed forces' efforts to fight terrorism in the two governorates of Abyan and Shabwa and the progress made in fighting the terrorists operatives.
The French Ambassador reiterated his government's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemen government's economic reforms to improve the peoples' living conditions.
Mr. SAFA expressed his admiration of the security situation he sensed along with the accompanying delegation during his recent visit the governorates of Aden, Hadramout and Lahj.
