The United Nations (UN) announced that it has received pledges with total amount of one billion and 200 million USD.

The UN, Switzerland and Sweden governments organized a fund-raising conference today, Monday, in Geneva intended to secure up to 4.3 billion are reported to have been needed to finance the Humanitarian Response Plan in Yemen 2023.

The US Secretary General Antonio Guterres gave a keynote speech at the gathering in which he reiterated the importance of joining regional and international efforts to renew the UN-brokered which started in April and ended in October last year.

Guterres highlighted the pressing need to pursue the humanitarian actions in Yemen and go jointly on working to renew the truce, establish comprehensive cease-fire and revive dialogue among the Yemeni parties to achieve the comprehensive and permanent peace in Yemen.
