An expanded coordination meeting was organized today in Marib by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations (OCHA) and the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief and which included the local authority and humanitarian action partners from UN, international, regional and local organizations operating in the governorate, and was devoted to discussing the difficult humanitarian situation in the governorate, in terms of needs.
The discussions went over humanity, opportunities and challenges facing humanitarian and relief work during the current year 2023 AD, plans for interventions, and the mechanism for their coordination and integration between various organizations and sectors.
The meeting also went over reports of performance and achievement and humanitarian interventions that were implemented during the past year by humanitarian action partners at the level of each sector and presented by the heads of the sectors, and their plans for humanitarian interventions during the current year to meet the great needs, and proposals to reduce the humanitarian gap which is constantly expanding between the increasing needs and lack of funding, and reducing the effects of international changes, foremost of which is the war in Ukraine, and the local ones represented in the economic and living deterioration of citizens and the continued displacement, negatively on the poor humanitarian situation in the province.
