[10/01/2023 05:37]
MARIB-SABA
Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Tuesday with the team of the High Commission for Refugees headed by UNHCR's assistant in Yemen promoting aspects of humanitarian partnership between the commission and Marib's local authority.

The meeting touched upon the commission's role in increasing humanitarian interventions, especially through its leading to shelter and protection blocs.

Miftah was briefed by the commission's team on the nature of their visit, which aims at evaluating performance of its office in the province and discussing humanitarian situation and plans for humanitarian interventions in 2023, in addition to discussing partners' plans of shelter and protection blocs.

The team pointed out that due to shortage of humanitarian supply, the organization reduced its budges and projects by 40 percent and closed many centers in the republic, except Marib due to the difficult humanitarian situation of the displaced people in it, noting that the organization plans to provide 2500 shelters (tents) to displaced families.

Miftah praised the role of the organization, expressing hope for greater role to meet big and increasing needs of the displaced people, pointing out to bad humanitarian situation and complicating it over Houthi militia's tyranny and displacing Yemeni people.

He confirmed that the local authority will continue providing different support and facilitations to the Commission's office and promoting coordination and partnership with it.
