'MASAN' Removes 2,500 Houthis-Laid Landmines in 10 Days

Council of Ministers endorses package of measures to deal with economic, financial developments

The Council of Ministers has adopted a package of measures approved by the High Economic Council to manage the economic and financial challenges to maintain the relatively stability of national currency exchange rates and average prices to mitigate the hardships the population are struggling with.

The Cabinet has endorsed these measures in its session held today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik.

Ministries and authorities in charge are authorized to implement these measures and report periodically to the Cabinet about the progress and the difficulties need to be addressed.

The Cabinet has stressed on the importance of rationalize spending and increasing the revenues.

The Prime Minister stated that the government has been working on battling the Houthi militias' coup, improving basic services and normalizing the situations in the government-held governorates.

" There are major challenges but they can be overcome", Ma'een said.
The Minister of Defense reported to the Cabinet about the developments in the battlefields and military situations in the flashpoints.

The Council of Ministers has approved the outline plan to distribute the central government's support and joint public resources of the two fiscal years 2023-2024 to local authorities in the government-held governorates.

The Cabinet has approved to add two more standards to the distribution criteria of the two years 2023-2024. The two standards are the geographic area and the urgent needs of the temporary capital Aden.

The Cabinet discussed a report about the Action of the Fund and Cultural Development and approved the suggestions it included in order to contribute to achieve the cultural development, document cultural and artistic heritage and protect the cultural and historical heritage of the country.
