His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi received, today, Tuesday, the United Nations Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg, and his assistant, Moeen Shrim, on the sidelines of his current visit to the Kingdom of Jordan.
The meeting touched on the developments of the Yemeni file, the international efforts coordinated with the regional and international community to revive the peace path in Yemen, and the government measures announced in accordance with the decision of the National Defense Council to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, deter their systematic attacks on infrastructure and contain their catastrophic repercussions on the national economy and exacerbate human suffering.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council mentioned the presidential and governmental initiatives to end the war, restore security and stability, and support the aspirations of the Yemenis to build a state, a decent life and equal citizenship, stressing the commitment of the Council and the government to the approach to peace based on the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.
For his part, the UN envoy praised the position of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in restraint, and serious and responsible engagement with all efforts aimed at restoring the path of comprehensive peace in Yemen.
