The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has stated that the inspection of any vessel by the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism in Yemen (UNVIM) does not mean that it is safe from U.S. sanctions, especially those ships, entities and individuals providing material support to the Houthis.

Lahj governor discusses with SFD, Yemen Aid developmental interventions

Governor of Lahj Ahmad Turki discussed Wednesday with General Director of Social Fund for Development in Aden Fuad Taher new humanitarian and developmental programs in a number of areas and districts of Lahj Province.

The meeting touched upon implementing developmental projects in sectors of education, health, water and roads in areas of districts of Tuban, Madhariba, Ra'as al-Arah and al-Maqatirah through cooperative councils formed by the fund in these areas for boosting social integration within enabling program Survival, 3 of the fund.

Governor Turki also approved the project of supporting al-Feyoush well in Tuban District by installing solar energy system and building a tanker by Yemen Aid organization with the cost of USD 45 million.

In his meeting with Director of Yemen Aid in Aden Majed al-Haj, Governor Turki directed finalizing measures of the project of rehabilitating the well of drinking water in Shagheth area, Tur al-Baha District financed by Yemen Aid with the cost of USD eight million.
