Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ahmad Awadh BinMubarak discussed Monday via phone with Ambassador of the European Union Mission in Yemen Gabriel Muneera Vinales latest developments in Yemen and efforts exerted to realize peace.
Houthi militia's violations to the UN Truce and Monday aggressive attack on Taiz city to cut the main road to the city were also discussed.
BinMubarak confirmed government's welcome to all efforts aiming to end the coup and launching the political process in accordance with the three agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.
"While efforts are exerted for deep-rooting the truce and opening roads to Taiz City, Houthi militia has reconfirmed through its aggression on the city (this morning) it's rejection to peace and negligence to its pledges and commitments," said foreign minister.
He emphasized necessity of taking clear positions towards the militia's violations and breaches and to exert utmost pressure on it to force it change its criminal approach.
For his part, the EU diplomat confirmed the EU's efforts for realizing peace in Yemen and standing by Yemen's unity and sovereignty.
