Today, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, was briefed on the progress of work in the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries in the temporary capital, Aden.
During the visit, Major General Al-Zabeedi toured the corridors of the building and the offices of the departments, bodies, institutions and centers affiliated with the Ministry.. He was briefed on the progress of work and the level of job discipline in it.
A member of the Leadership Council chaired a meeting that included the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Saqtri, the undersecretaries of the ministry, and the directors-general of the departments, bodies and institutions affiliated with the ministry in the temporary capital, Aden, and a number of neighboring governorates.
At the beginning of the meeting, a member of the Leadership Council gave a speech in which he praised the great efforts made and made by the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries to revive the various sectors affiliated with the ministry, after the great destruction that these vital sectors were subjected to as a result of the war.
Brigade Gen. Al- Al-Zabeedi addressed the attendees, saying: "Today, you have huge tasks on your shoulders to restore the infrastructure of this ministry and enhance its presence as one of the most important revenue ministries that supply the state treasury with hard currency, and its sectors that are directly related to the life of the citizen and his daily strength."
Major General Al-Zobayidi stressed the need for the ministry to intensify its efforts to enhance food security from wheat, and to achieve the highest percentage of self-enough in the basic crops produced by the country, especially in light of the food crisis that the world is witnessing as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine
Major General Al-Zobaidy urged the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture to use all expertise and competencies, to supply new blood from qualified young people in the field of agricultural, fishery and animal research, and to coordinate with supporting international bodies and organizations, particularly the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations "FAO", to attract more support for farmers and fishermen. Providing training programs that enhance their capabilities and raise their productive efficiency.
After that, the member of the Leadership Council listened from the attendees to the set of difficulties and challenges facing the progress of their work, each within the scope of his competence, in addition to a set of opinions and ideas to overcome them and solve them according to practical and scientific strategies that ensure their sustainability and raise the quality of their implementation.
