TAIZ-SABA
Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Friday with the Military Advisor of the United Nations Secretary General Envoy for Yemen General Antony Hayord military situations and security challenges and preparations for holding new meetings for the Military Coordination Committee.
Shamsan reviewed humanitarian suffering of Taizi people and damages resulted from continuous war and siege on Taiz city and closing roads into the city.
He praised efforts exerted by UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg and his briefings he presents to Security Council on necessity of opening main roads to Taiz amid Houthi militia's rejection to all UN demands, calling for exerting pressure on the militia to implement commitments included in the UN Truce instead of continuous provision of alternatives and concessions for the interest of Houthis at the expense of the government.
Governor of Taiz expressed regret for not achieving any progress alleviating suffering of people of Taiz, calling for realizing justice in humanitarian solutions.
For his part, the military advisor of the UN envoy made it clear that his visit to the province aims at discussing and understanding security and military situations and challenges facing the province and possible solutions, in addition to discussing preparations for meetings of the Military Coordination Committee.
He confirmed the vital role of Taiz in discussing all Yemeni issues and care of the UN envoy of people's suffering and exerting all efforts for opening roads and facilitating freedom of movement, as well as tackling security and military challenges through holding meetings between all parties for building confidence and finding opportunities for continuing truce.
