ADEN - SABA
Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, confirmed that the targeting of the Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by a Houthi booby-trapped drone and the injury of 12 civilians, employees and travelers at the airport of different nationalities, as a result of fragments from the drone's interception in near airport, is a war crime and a flagrant violation of international laws and covenants.
Al-Eryani said in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), "The continuation of the Houthi militia's deliberate targeting of civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirms its adherence to the approach of escalation, and its continued use of terrorism as an approach and a means to achieve its malign goals, and its movement as a dirty Iranian tool to spread chaos and destabilize." security and stability of the region.
Al-Eryani added, "The international community's continuing blind eye approach toward the Houthis has encouraged that militia to persist in committing crimes and targeting civilian airports in an unprecedented disregard for the lives of innocent civilians."
Al-Eryani renewed his call on the international community and the United Nations to support the legitimate government’s efforts in the battle to restore the state, end the coup, and establish security and stability. He also urged the international community to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization and prosecute and try its leaders in the International Criminal Court as “war criminals.”
