Al-Qusaibi: Houthis' skills as landmines-makers seriously developing
[20/01/2022 05:05]

ADEN - SABA
Director-General of Saudi Demining Project in Yemen "MASAM" Sami al-Qusaibi said" Houthi-laid landmines and explosive devices which were extracted recently in Shabwa governorate turned out to contain advanced techniques, made-off stuff were imported from abroad, totally different of the landmines which "MASAM" dealt with previously".

Speaking at press conference held today in the temporary capital Aden he added that Iran-allied Houthi militiamen have been developing their own capacities and skills about manufacturing landmines.

Al-Qusaibi stated that the militiamen have been excessively and randomly spreading landmines more than ever before. " It did not happen that MASAM's deminers have to demine 200-250 landmine per day as they have to do over the recent weeks in Shabwa governorate", he said.

He stated that MASAM's teams have managed to extract 300 thousands of Houthi-laid landmines and explosive devices since 2018 in different Yemeni governorates.

Al-Qusaibi indicated that 28 of MASAM's deminers lost their lives and 33 sustained different injuries until now.
