A meeting held Monday chaired by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Yemen’s Governor to the World Bank Dr. Afrah al-Zouba and attended by a high-level World Bank delegation led by the Bank’s Vice President for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Ousmane Dione discussed ways to enhance partnership and expand support across development, humanitarian, service, and economic sectors in the country.

Shura Council hails military advancements in Shabwa

Shura Council leadership convened a periodic session today presided over by the Speaker of the Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena.

By the end of its session it issued a statement in which it hailed the significant victories the national military troops have gained in Shabwa governorate against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The Shura Council leadership highly appreciated the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's role in backing the government's troops that help realizing a swift victory driving Houthi militiamen out of the districts of Shabwa governorate.

The Shura Council called on the international community to ramp up pressures upon Houthi militia, condemning its coup d'état which resulted in the world's worst humanitarian crisis, displacing millions of the Yemeni peoples, inflicting heavy economic loses in billion USD.
