Al-Eryani calls for releasing Yemeni journalists detained by Houthi militiamen

Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muamer al-Eryani called on the UN, IFJ and journalists rights groups to help the Yemeni journalists who have been held in the Houthi militias' jails for years.

He said "The continuing silence over Houthi militia's crimes against the journalists in Yemen is a stain on the conscience of the international community and international journalist organizations".

The minister stated that there are 11 Yemeni journalists have been detained in the Houthi militia's prisons for years, subjected to torture, four of them were sentenced to death based on fabricated charges, their health conditions are seriously deteriorated.

Al-Eryani called on the UN and the international journalists organizations to press for freeing the Yemeni journalists from the militias' jails unconditionally.
