Yemen, Egypt agree to cooperate in the field of electrical energy

Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Anwar Kalashat discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Al-Marqabi cooperation between the two countries in the fields of electricity and energy and ways to benefit from the Egyptian experience in this sector.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint technical committee to study aspects of possible support from Egypt to the electricity sector in Yemen and to form an Egyptian technical team to contribute to evaluating the situation of the sector and developing appropriate strategies for its rehabilitation in a way that ensures the provision of electrical service for citizens, in addition to updating the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the two countries in the field of electrical energy.

Minister Kalashat praised the achievements made by the electricity and renewable energy sector in Egypt in recent years, expressing Yemen's aspiration to benefit from Egyptian expertise.
