PeteroMasila announces successful tests to operate President Power Plant in Aden

Masila Petroleum Company has announced success of final tests to operate the President Power Station Project in Aden City in the framework of exerted efforts to confirm readiness of operating the plant after finalizing tests and necessary requirements of the project.

In a press release issues by the company on Wednesday, the company said it has commenced final tests of the plant project with output of 264MW the company was authorized to construct on the bases of directives from President Abd- Rabu Mansour Hadi.

Earlier, the company started measures of test operation early past November and finished successfully tests of the first turbine and is working on finalizing test operation to the second turbine, which started December 13,2021.

The company carried out all necessary preparations to link the plant with the national power network temporarily and making output tests to the network after linking the new plant in cooperation with the General Corporation of Electricity- Aden Branch.

The technical and engineering teams are working continuously to conduct final tests to the turbines, equipment and different systems in the plant to ensure readiness of the plant to enter service as soon as finalizing final tests, said the company, adding that they are working on expanding transport networks of power 132/33 kilovolt in Aden city to be finished during the forthcoming months.

Finalizing preparations to operate the President Power Plant Project in Aden coincides with the tenth anniversary of establishing PetroMasila Company, said Executive Director of PetroMasila Mohammed bin Sumait.

The accomplishment of the project despite difficult conditions in the country, mainly in Aden, confirms that PetroMasila has been competent and confident to carry out the project, which will have significant importance in service and economic domains in Aden.
