Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani held talks here today with the Speaker of Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Professor Mustafa Sentop over bilateral parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The discussions held on the sideline of the 16th Session of the (PUIC) of the OIC member states.
Al-Barakani briefed Sentop on the developments in Yemen amid Iran-backed Houthi militia's coup and the ongoing war, citing the grave violations the militiamen have embarked on against the Yemeni peoples including the IDPs in Marib and other governorates.
For his part, Sentop voiced his support for the legitimate Yemeni government and for the efforts to reach a negotiated political settlement.
Separately, al-Barakani met with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the member states of the OIC Sheikh Mohammed Nyas.
