Egyptian FM: Yemen's security is inseparable part of regional security

Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shukri has confirmed that Yemen's security and stability is inseparable part of the security and stability of the region.

He renewed Egyptian position rejecting using Yemeni territories as a launching bad to threaten security of Saudi Arabia and freedom of maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

In his meeting with the UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg on Monday, the Egyptian minister pointed out to Egyptian position towards Yemen's crisis on the bases of supporting Yemen's unity, sovereignty and independence and necessity of supporting political solution and realizing aspirations of Yemeni people.

He expressed hope that efforts of the UN envoy will help pushing political track forward as the ideal way for reaching a sustainable political settlement to Yemen's crisis on the bases of the three agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council's resolution 2216.
