Yemen's Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights Ahmed Arman said, "The Houthi militias have brought death to children in Yemen as they committed horrific violations against them, in clear defiance to all international and local laws and covenants."
In a press statement on the occasion of the International Children's Day, he added, "In light of the continued violations against, the Houthi militia have recruited tens of thousands of children under the age of eighteen to the frontlines since they seized power in 2014."
The minister pointed out that the Houthi militia used children as human shields and used them at military checkpoints and as informants.
He said the militia's indiscriminate bombing of a number of populated areas has claimed the lives of thousands of children and women, and the mines they planted in farms, roads and residential areas caused the death of a large number of children.
