Yemen Minister calls for re-designating Houthis as a terrorist organization
[20/05/2021 06:42]

RIYADH - SABA
Yemen’s Information Minister has called on the international community to re-designate the country’s Houthi theocratic militants “as a terrorist organization.”

In a statement to Saba, Muammar al-Eryani called on the UN and US envoys to the country to condemn the Houthi terrorist operations including the recurring operations of planting roadside bombs in cities outside the terrorist group’s control.

He particularly slammed the Houthi planting of IEDs in the roads in Marib and hailed the security forces in the eastern Yemeni city for thwarting busting the Houthi cell involved in the heinous terror attempt this week.

“These activities target the users of public roads indiscriminately and do not differ from the works of any other terrorist organizations especially the IRGC-linked sectarian militias,” he said, as he called on the two envoys to condemn them in line with the international commitments to counter terrorism.
