Planning minister discusses with WB establishing ports, roads fund

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb discussed Monday here with the Regional Team of World Bank headed by the Regional Director of the WB in Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti Marina Weis for establishing a credit fund for supporting ports and roads sector.
The meeting touched upon preparations for holding a meeting for donors for financing the fund and confirmed expanding interventions in fields of water, sanitation, agriculture and fisheries.
Minister Batheeb stressed significance of joint work between the government and the WB for allocating the 19-package projects and boosting studies and analysis in key sectors led by feeding sector and fisheries.
He also confirmed there must be independent future package projects for water and sanitation and transport in the forthcoming package projects and continuing support to the Central Bank of Yemen and capabilities of government bodies.
