RIYADH-SABA
Yemen’s Foreign Minister said the Houthi escalation of attack on civilian areas in Yemen and Saudi Arabia is the militia’s response to government’s ceasefire upon international calls in this regard including the Saudi peace initiative.
Addressing an online Japan-Arab Political dialogue, Ahmed Awad Bin Miubarak warned that the Houthi extension of terrorism to the international shipping lanes and power supply installations, as in Saudi Arabia, is a grave destabilization of the region and the world’s security.
This, he said, “requires the international community to exercise the utmost level of pressure on the Houthi militia and the Iranian regime behind them to cease military escalation and heed the calls for peace.
Bin Mubarak renewed his call to the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in forcing the Houthi militia to allow international technicians repair the decaying oil tanker of Safer and prevent a massive environmental disaster before the vessel explodes or starts to leak its 1.4 million barrels of crude.
