The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has stated that the inspection of any vessel by the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism in Yemen (UNVIM) does not mean that it is safe from U.S. sanctions, especially those ships, entities and individuals providing material support to the Houthis.

Bin Mubarak confers with senior EU official over developments in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak received today a phone call from the High Representative of the EU foreign and security policy/ Vice President of the EU Commission Josep Borrell.

The telephone conversation covered a range of topics pertaining to the situations in Yemen including the efforts aiming to realize peace, re-establishing security, stability and putting an end of the absurd warfare has been waged by Houthi militia on the Yemenis.

Bin Mubarak briefed Borrell on the latest developments about political, military and humanitarian situations that Houthi militia's recent military escalations and operation seriously worsening.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister restated that the government will keep on exerting the efforts to achieve peace, supporting the good offices have been made by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, reacting constructively to all international endeavors aim to reach political settlement.

For his part Borrell reiterated the EU's support for the Yemeni government's efforts to bring about peace, re-establish security and stability.
