The conversations dealt with a range of topics including the outcomes of Yemen Donor Conference 2021, political and humanitarian situations amid Houthi militia's ongoing military escalations and operations on Marib governorate and civil facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Maeen briefed Guterres on the economic hardships and difficult humanitarian situations in Yemen, citing the pressing needs and challenges that require urgently interventions by the UN and brethren and friends to bail out the national economy and stop the depreciation of the national currency to help averting a famine.
Guterres voiced his concerns about the situation in Marib and the humanitarian implications of the ongoing fighting, repeating his call for an overall cease-fire and an inclusive peace discussions.
