PM: Houthi militia creates fuels crisis to escape the UN supervisory mechanism

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik stated that Houthi rebel militia has deliberately created fuels crisis and did not comply with the UN brokered regulatory mechanism agreed to in order to return to smuggling the Iranian fuels and use the revenues to fund its absurd war against the Yemeni people.

As he met with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths on Wednesday Ma'een demanded taking clear position toward the Houthis maneuvers and their attempts to capitalize on the peoples suffering to abandon the regulatory mechanism agreed to that aimed to use the revenues of oil taxes to pay the civil services employees.

" The UN and its envoy should have clear stance about Houthis endeavors to trade on the peoples suffering, creating fuels crisis to flourish black market to gain personally".

The discussions touched upon Mr. Griffiths' efforts to reach an overall cease-fire in Yemen.
