The Government of Yemen has expressed its deep concern and regret regarding the recent decision made by the U.S. Administration to restrict the entry of citizens of the Republic of Yemen to the United States, as part of a group of countries included in this decision.

The Charged' Affairs of the Republic of Yemen embassy in Tokyo Bashir Qasim met Saturday with the Assistant of the Japanese Foreign Minister , Head of Middle East and North Africa Department Katsu Hiko Takahashi.
Yemeni-Japanese bilateral ties and cooperation was key focus of the discussions.
Qasem briefed Takahashi on the Houthi militia's atrocities, violations and racist measures against the Yemeni people.
He cited the militia's decision to impose 20% tax upon the country's resources revenues termed as "Khums" one-fifth in favor of the Bani Hashim segment of the population to whom the militia claims to belong.
He also pointed out to the rebellion carried out by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the governorate of Socotra archipelagos and the interim capital Aden.
Qasem expressed appreciation for the Japanese humanitarian assistance, most recent the $41.2 million pledge in Yemen donors conference 2020.
The Japanese official stated that his country's government is keen to contribute to the humanitarian actions in Yemen.
He reiterated Japan's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, Yemen's unity and territorial integrity.
