An authorized government source repudiated the circulated reports regarding the issuance of government directives to close Aden International Airport to air traffic, affirming that the government has not issued any directives to close the airport, nor there is any such decision issued by the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy.

Saudi demining project extracts 671 Houthi-laid landmines in week 4 of April

The Saudi demining project "MASAM" has so far extracted 671 landmines from different parts of Yemen in the fourth of week of April.

MASAM , part of a $40 million initiative by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), said in a statement it "has removed 161,909 total number of Houthi laid landmines" since it started its mission of mine clearance in May 2018.

The landmines from schools, houses and private properties in several provinces of Yemen where they had been planted by the rebel militia that seized power militarily on 21 September 2014 and has since triggered a war.

Hundreds of Yemeni civilians have been dying and losing limbs in the explosion of these landmines planted indiscriminately and ubiquitously.
