The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

PM urges doubling efforts to get Aden new electricity station accomplished

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik ordered accelerating pace of work on the project of Aden new electricity plant to get the power station ready to operate. The Aden new power station total capacity is 264MGW.

Ma'een's presided over joint meeting Thursday in the interim capital Aden included senior officials in the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and Petromassila Company for Oil Exploration and Production which is tasked with supervising over the establishment of Aden electricity project.

The meeting aimed to review the work in progress and redoubling the efforts to put Aden new electricity station in operation as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the progress realized in building up the power facility.

The discussions also touched upon the procedures and practical steps have been taken by the Ministry of Electricity to increase the power generate stations' total capacities to meet the increasingly growing demands for electricity.
