ADEN-SABA
Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik stressed the important role that Yemeni universities should play in confronting militant and radical militias including Houthi sectarian militia. " Our battle with extremistmilitant militias, above all Houthi militia, is basically theoretical, we have been battling the rebel militia intellectually and militarily", Ma'een said.
As he convened a session with the leadership of Taiz University on Thursday in the interim capital Aden, he urged academic elites to contribute actively to counter Iran-allied Houthi militia's coup.
He said" Universities must do their enlightening job, help increasing knowledge about the divisive sectarian doctrine and agenda of Houthi militia, aligning the population to counter the militia's coup that triggered an absurd war the country has been struggling with since 2015".
The meeting aimed to discuss challenges facing the University of Taiz and explore solutions with available resources at this critical stage.
