The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

VP meets with UN Secretary General

Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh met Tuesday with the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres and discussed with him UN efforts and developments in Yemen.

He acquainted the UN Secretary General with latest developments in Yemen and efforts exerted by the government and Saudi-led Coalition for realizing peace in Yemen despite Houthi militia stubbornness and continuous breaches of agreements, recently Stockholm Agreement.

He confirmed that the legality under President Hadi supports all UN peace efforts exerted by the UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths on the bases of the three references; the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216 for reaching to sustainable peace ending Houthi coup and regaining the state.

Vice President pointed to suffering of Yemeni citizen over Houthi militia's crimes and Houthi threats to international security and peace.

For his part, Guterres renewed UN keenness on accomplishing permanent peace in Yemen and ending people's suffering.
