Foundation stone laid for $1 millionwater project in Lahj

The Governor of Lahj Maj. Gen. Ahmed Turki and the acting Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, have laid the foundation stone for the first phase of a water pumping station project worth one million dollars in the province.

The project, which will benefit about 70,000 people is scheduled to be implemented within six months with support from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and the Water and Sanitation Project office in the temporary Capital Aden.

The governor of Lahj thanked the UNICEF and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centerfor supporting this project which will benefit such a large number of people in Lahj.
