Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik has confirmed significance of the World Bank delegation's visit to the transitional capital Aden as it comes in the framework of boosting strategic relations between the government and Yemen's donor partners.
In a joint press conference for the prime minister and the WB's delegation on Monday, prime minister pointed to the bank's relation with development in Yemen through implementing significance projects and capacity building.
He touched upon government's efforts for facing current challenges and tackling problems resulted by the war triggered by Houthi militia.
He talked about government's keenness on mobilizing efforts of Yemen's partners and increasing pledges and donations for reconstruction, realizing economic recovery and implementing infrastructure projects.
He made it clear that the government has plans and projects will be carried out soon with partners in different fields, noting to government's keenness on adopting transparent principles in implementing reconstruction projects in coordination with donors.
For his part, the Dean of the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank Mirza Hassan said the WB provided development, relief and humanitarian support to Yemen during the past period worth USD 1.7 billion.
Meanwhile, the Head of the WB's Group for Middle East and North African Affairs FaridBalhaj said their visit to Aden carries significance message to Yemen and Yemenis proving the group's support to development and relief field.
