RIYADH-SABA
Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed Monday with Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkin developments in Yemen and continuous Houthi rejection in implementing peace efforts and escalation for shedding blood of Yemeni people.
The meeting dealt with recent development on implementing Stockholm agreement on Hodeida after five months of signing it and Houthi militia delay in implementing it, as well as the comic announcement of unilateral withdrawal from Hodeida ports and handing them over to other elements from their group.
Prime Minister confirmed that Houthi play of handing over the ports to themselves before the envoy of the United Nations and the head of the UN Redeployment Committee is not acceptable act and clearly contradicts Stockholm agreement, pointing out that the job of the UN envoy and the head of redeployment committee is implementing UN resolutions and signed agreements not welcoming unilateral steps for prolonging the war against Yemeni people.
The meeting dealt with implementation of understandings agreed upon during the visit of Russian Ambassador to Aden recently and Russian role in boosting relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, as well as re-opening Russian consulate in Aden.
He praised Russian support to Yemen's government and keenness on realizing peace and stability in Yemen.
For his part, the Russian diplomat renewed his country's support to the government of Yemen and keenness on putting an end to suffering of the Yemeni people through peace and implementing the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
He praised government's positive dealing with peace efforts and its active work for normalizing conditions in liberated provinces and improving services.
