The official spokesman of the Arab Coalition backing Yemen Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that the Joint Forces Command of the Arab Coalition has referred one of the targeting operations in Yemen to the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) to assess the possibility of an incident.
The Saudi Press Agency quoted Al-Maliki as saying: “The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has completed its After Action Review of conducted operations within the Theater of Operations for Tuesday, March 26, 2019. According to the results of the comprehensive review, operational vetting and what was stated by the executers of the said operation, that there might have been collateral damage during targeting members of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia in Kitaf Directorate, Sa’dah, Yemen, which is an active military Theater of Operations, all documents relating to this incident have been handed over to JIAT pending assessment and announcement of results.”
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Coalition to apply the highest standards of targeting, and implementing the Customary International Humanitarian Law in regards to military operations, as well as taking all necessary procedures in case of an incident, God forbid, to achieve the highest levels of accountability and transparency.
