Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed on Monday with the Regional Director of World Health Organization Ahmad al-Manthari issues associated with health and mechanism of improving it and the organization's other support to Yemen.
Prime Minister pointed out that the government exerts huge efforts for continuation medication and protection services provided by health sector to all people across Yemen despite difficult conditions over the war triggered by Houthi militia and caused catastrophic results on health sector; complicating humanitarian crisis and spread of epidemics.
He confirmed that the government is committed to its national and moral responsibilities as it pays salaries of all doctors and all staff working in health sector in all provinces included those under Houthi militia's control as initial step for paying salaries of other service sectors across Yemen.
He praised efforts exerted by WHO in Yemen, confirming readiness on providing all facilitations the organization needs for performing its humanitarian activities across Yemen.
For his part, al-Manthari confirmed that the organization works continuously for serving health sector in Yemen and has a number of programs it plans to carry out like vaccination and combating infectious diseases.
He praised cooperation and coordination with the ministry of public health and other government's bodies for facing epidemics and diseases, mainly cholera.
He confirmed that the organization is working with the government for boosting health sector in Yemen.
