Govt blames Houthis for failure of public employee payment
[29/01/2019 05:46]

ADEN-SABA
Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadhrami said the unjustified stubbornness of Houthis during the peace talks in Sweden last month was the reason that no further deals were struck including any deals regarding the payment of public employees in the rebels-held territories.

In a meeting with the German ambassador to Yemen in Aden on Tuesday, al-Hadhrami said the opportunity of reaching a deal for opening Sana'a airport was wasted due to this stubbornness.

He said the governmet reacted positively and seriously to the efforts of the UN envoy in all peace talks including the Stockholm talks, out of its interest to put an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He said that the rebel militia has for more than a month been hindering what was agreed in Sweden. He called on the UN Security Council to declare the name of the party hindering peace in Yemen.
